Junior program
Start before you're old enough.
Two of the department's 27 members are juniors: 16- and 17-year-olds who train with the department, learn the equipment and the discipline, and step up to full membership when they turn eighteen.

What juniors do
Train on training nights: hose, ladders, tools, radio, first aid. Help at the station, at Fire Prevention Night and parades. Learn how a fire department actually works.
What juniors don't do
Go inside a burning building, ride to calls without a supervising officer, or do anything the department's insurer and the law reserve for certified adults. The rules exist to bring them home.
Who it's for
Students in the district, 16 or 17, with a parent's permission and grades that hold up. Call the station and ask for the junior program.
